Welcome to the home of winter triathlon in the Northeast.
Winter triathlon was first introduced to the East Coast in 2008, and involves running, mountain biking, and cross-country skiing all on the snow. There are hopes to get winter triathlon into the Winter Olympics in the near future. Currently, there are four winter triathlons in the northeast region. In 2010 the USAT National Championships will be held in Soldier Hollow - Midway , Utah and the World Championships will be held in Eidsvoll, Norway.
While we have a handful of elite athletes at every race the rest of the field is made up of those new to the sport and those trying it for the first time. All our race courses are designed to allow the novice with 'off-the-shelf' equipment to compete and enjoy the whole race experience.
For those still wondering what all this winter triathlon is about, check out the 'FAQ's' page or click here to watch some video from the 2008 Winter Triathlon.
If its got your interest why not attend one of our Thursday night clinics and training races and find out what its all about.
This year the Series continues to span two States (MA & NH) with three winter triathlons. The season kicks off in early January with the Weston Winter Duathlon as a warm up for the New England Winter Triathlon Series 2010. Then the Series gets into full swing over the last weekend of January with the New Hampshire Winter Triathlon Festival, which includes a seminar, clinics, dinner with top athletes, and the Gunstock Winter Triathlon on Sunday which will be a Regional Qualifier for athletes wishing to represent Team USA at the ITU World Championships. The Massachusetts Winter Triathlon will also be back for the third year at the Weston Ski Track and finally our new race, the King Pine Winter Triathlon, will close out the season up in beautiful Madison, NH. Prizes will be awarded at each race, with your best two races counting towards your overall Series standings.
