Championship Course:
4K Trail Run, 7K Mountain Bike, 6K X-Country Ski
Short Course:
4K Trail Run, 3.5K Mountain Bike, 3K X-Country Ski
Please note that these are our best estimates of the course and we may change the route to reflect the best possible racing conditions.
All courses will be very well marked and open to run/ride/ski before the race starts.
Transition Area
The transition area will be in the GNA Stadium area across the road from the parking.
Run and Bike Course
This year the run and the bike course will, for the most part be on separate trails. The run (green arrows) does an overall loop and the bike uses all the inner trails (red arrows). The courses merge for a short section (orange arrows).
When these are on the same course, runners must keep to the right hand side of the trail and bikers keep to the left hand side of the trail. All passing must take place on the left of the person you are passing. Alert them by saying ‘ On your left’.
Hopefully all of the terrain will be rideable but if a section is not just push your bike and stay on the right hand side of the track.
There are a few climbs and one significant hill but remember what goes up must come down, be careful on the descents as well.
There will be plenty of opportunities to see family and friends in the stadium as you do multiple loops as shown below.
After your 1st loop of the run you will run past the transition area. After the 2nd loop on the run you will enter the transition as shown and exit with your bike at the other end. After your 1st or 2nd loop, Short and Championship courses respectively, then after your first/last loop you will enter the transition area and exit at the other end with your skis.
The Run course will be 2 x 2k loops (4k total)
Short Course will do BOTH run loops (4k).
The Bike course will be 2 x 3.5k loops (7k total)
Short Course will only do 1 bike loop (3.5k).
XC Ski Course
This will be on 'Trail 5 - Cobble Mtn' and will only be used for XC skiing. There will be groomed skates lanes, and where possible classic lanes will be set.
The XC Ski course will be 2 x 3k loops (6k total)
Terrain
Although this is not super hilly it is not flat either, but most of the hills are fairly short. We will make are best efforts to make sure the course is as safe and fast as possible to enable us to have the best racing conditions.
